Contract Mail Carrier - Interested in delivering mail and packages in The Villages? No driving from the right side of the vehicle required! Sort & pick up your mail at the post office, drive it to assigned mail station and deliver to a mailbox inside an air conditioned room!
We are hiring for several part-time positions with the ability to work as many days as you want. There may possibly be a few full-time positions opening soon also. These are NOT career or union positions. The individual will work for a USPS Contractor as a subcontractor and considered as self-employed. Pay starting at $80- $150 per day depending on the size of the route and contractor you work for that day. There are many ways to make extra money also. That all depends on how much you're willing to work :)

REQUIREMENTS:
*You MUST be capable of lifting up to 70 lbs
* A van or larger SUV is required.
* MUST be willing to work Saturdays, no exceptions.
* Individuals must have a clean driving record
* MUST pass a USPS security clearance
* MUST PASS A DRUG TEST!!!
** Drug tests, driving record & fingerprints for clearance will be at your expense. We will provide you with the information of where to go if hired. The total cost is normally between $50-60. Sometimes you can get the fingerprinting done for free. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS JOB AT THE POST OFFICE!! For this posting you must be hired by an existing contractor. Training will be provided. If you meet ALL qualifications, you will be contacted by a contractor for further instructions.
Things you should know before applying:
If you have any physical limitations that would prevent you from lifting heavy packages, please don't apply. Package delivery is a major part of our job now because everyone is ordering online! There is no "calling in" as a contractor. If you don't show up, you don't have a job, period. You must be able to commit to show up once you agree to work that day. Contractors get paid one lump sum once a month - the last day of every month. If that doesn't work for you, please don't apply. There's nothing we can do about that.
