🚨Tank Tip Tuesday🚨

Buying or selling a home with a septic system? These problems can quickly turn a smooth closing into a stressful one:

1️⃣ A failing or overflowing septic system:
Standing water, sewage backups, foul odors, or drainage problems can be major red flags for potential buyers.

2️⃣ Damaged or failing septic components:
Cracked tanks or lids, bad aerator pumps, failing lift pumps, broken floats, or alarms can mean unexpected repair costs.

3️⃣ An overdue or poorly maintained system:
No maintenance history or years without pumping can uncover bigger problems right when you’re trying to close.

Don’t wait until the last minute to find out there’s a problem!

Call TL Septic! We’re here to help identify septic issues early, recommend solutions, and help keep your closing moving. 225.416.6177

The answer is….Scott! Because it breaks down faster than many thicker, ultra-plush brands, and it’s less likely to contribute to clogs in your plumbing or septic system. While no toilet paper disappears completely, choosing a septic-safe option like Scott can help your system function more efficiently.

Tank Tip Tuesday!!!!

This is an aerator pump!

Think of your aerobic septic system like a fish tank. Just like fish need an air pump to survive, the beneficial bacteria in your septic system need oxygen. The aerator pump supplies that oxygen. Without it, the bacteria can’t do their job of treating your wastewater.

If this pump stops working, your system can quickly lose its ability to properly treat sewage—leading to odors, alarms, and potentially costly repairs.

Regular maintenance can catch problems before they become emergencies. If your aerator is noisy, has stopped running, or your alarm is sounding, give us a call!

Tank Tip Tuesday!!

It’s okay to pour bacon grease down the drain as long as you run hot water afterward.

❌ FALSE!

Hot water may melt the grease temporarily, but as it cools farther down the pipes, it hardens and sticks to the inside of your plumbing. Over time, this can cause clogs, backups, and add extra buildup in your septic tank. Instead, let grease cool in a container, then throw it in the trash.
