But what if the real secret is underground?

Deep in the Amazon, ancient communities created a soil called Terra Preta that still rebuilds itself hundreds of years later. Some researchers have found that when this soil is disturbed, it can naturally recover over time as worms, fungi, and microbes continue improving it.

Sounds made up.

It's not.

We took a look at what Terra Preta is, why it works, and whether some of its ideas could help improve soil right here in Las Vegas.
