Creations By Jeff LLC I am a local native to Las Vegas. I love to create custom woodwork for both private and businesses. Hello! My name is Jeff Roybal.

As a Las Vegas, Nevada native I am proud to come from a family with a strong history in both music and working with their hands including carpentry, upholstery, custom mirror work, plumbing and masonry. I remember enjoying creating from a young age using Lincoln Logs and Legos in the living room and building forts, constructing ramps and more at the homes of my friends. As I grew older, I helped p

eople with their projects to learn and gain as much experience as I could. Once my wife and I bought our first house, I turned the garage into a shop and started creating custom items for friends and family for fun. Over time my skills grew and so did my passion for it. After over two decades of working a “regular job” I took the plunge. I turned my hobby of creating custom pieces into a full time profession and never looked back. I have been able to build both privately in my shop and within the city I love on bigger projects such as Life is Beautiful and television/movie sets. One of my favorite parts of what I do is seeing and knowing that people/businesses use and enjoy one of my creations! This leap of faith has been a blessing in my life and a career choice I wish I made sooner!

Made this box for a company a while back to hold something special for people who signed up to become a member of their product. Although they loved the look and quality product I created they decided to go with someone who can mass produce something similar but for a cheaper price. That is of course them doing what makes sense for them just like I did for me as far as my price. Either way it is always good to add for my portfolio. #702

A very good friend and ex neighbor who has never asked for anything his whole life asked me for something that gave me great honor. After insisting on setting up my shop with all kinds of extra outlets and a few 220s for my equipment(he is a retired master electrician)he finally asked me to make urns for both him and his wife to someday use when they pass away. The only things he requested was walnut and Purple Heart wood to be used and to keep it simple. This is what I came up with. I surprised them with having laser their first initial into the top and used solid brass screws for the bottom walnut plate. They were so happy with them when I delivered them. They said they were a work of art and way more than they expected. This was a personal project from me to them. After him being so generous we his time with me and everyone else he met it gave me great joy for give something back to him and him selfless wife. #702

Was contacted by someone who had a collectible statue and had rosewood from South Africa that you can’t get into the united states anymore. He had me custom carve out a recess that matched the unique bottom to create a proper stand for such an expensive piece. He wanted it to be very clean lined. I sealed it with . It came out awesome! He was very happy. I may be working with him again on future projects using more of the same wood. #702

This!

A customer asked me how much it cost to do this job....
I answered him: $ 1500
He said: So expensive for this job?
I asked: How much do you think it would cost you?
He answers me: $ 800 maximum... That's a pretty simple job right? !"
- For $ 800 I invite you to do it yourself.
- But.... I don't know how to.
- For $800 I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $700, you'll get the knowledge for the next time you want
- It seemed right to him and he agreed.
- But to get started: you need tools: A welder, grinder, chop saw, drill press, welding hood, gloves etc...
- But I don't have all these equipment and I can't buy all of these for one job.
- Well then for another $300 more I'll rent my stuff to you so you can do it.
- Okay, he says.
- Okay! Tuesday I'm waiting for you to start doing this work
- But I can't on Tuesday I only have time today.
- I'm sorry, but I'm only available Tuesday to teach you and lend you my stuff. Other days are busy with other customers.
- Okay! That means I'm going to have to sacrifice my Tuesday, give up my tasks.
- I forgot. To do your job yourself, you also have to pay for the nonproductive factors.
- That is? What is this?"
- Bureaucratic, tax, vat, security, insurance, fuel etc.
- Oh no!... But to accomplish these tasks, I'm going to spend more money and waste a lot of time!
- Do you have them? You can do it to me before?"
- Okay!
- I'll make you all the material you need. Truck loading is done Monday evening or Tuesday morning you'll have to come by 6 loading the truck. Don't forget to be on time to avoid traffic jams and be on time
- At 6??? Nope! Too early for me! I used to getting up later...
- You know, I've been thinking. Y ' all better get the job done. I'd rather pay you the $1500. If I had to, it wouldn't be perfect and it would cost me a lot more.

When you pay for a job, especially handcrafted, you pay not only for the material used, but also:
- Knowledge
- Experience
- Study
- Tools
- Services
- Time to go
- punctuality
- Accountability
- Professionalism
- Accuracy
- Guaranteed
- Patents
- Sacrifices
- Safety and security
- Payment of tax obligations
Critiquing the work of others based on pricing is not fair. The fees I would charge for a similar task are considerably higher than what is indicated here, but the emphasis lies in the principle rather than the specific amount.
Only by knowing all the elements necessary for the production of a certain work can you estimate the actual cost.
