I just wanted to share a post I made for my husband on our anniversary
Eighteen years. 1️⃣8️⃣ YEARS!!! 18 freaking years together!!!
When I look back on our life together, I don't just see the big moments. I see the thousands of little ones that have quietly built the beautiful life we share. I see the late nights, the early mornings, the sacrifices, the laughter, the tears, the challenges we've overcome, and the countless ways you've shown up for our family every single day.
You have given me a love that cannot be measured. Not because of grand gestures or perfect words (those are far inbetween), but because of the consistency of your heart (which shows up every single day). You love through your actions, through your dedication, through your willingness to carry burdens so our family can thrive. You work tirelessly for us, often putting our needs before your own, and I hope you know how deeply appreciated that is.
Thank you for being the kind of husband who makes me feel safe, supported, and loved. Thank you for standing beside me through every season of life. Through the exciting times and the difficult ones, you've never stopped being my partner, my best friend (you are the bestest friend I have ever had), and my greatest source of strength.
Watching you be a father has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Our two beautiful children are so fortunate to have a dad who loves them so fiercely. They see your hard work, your kindness, your patience, and your devotion, even if they don't always realize it yet. The example you set for them every day is shaping the people they will become, and I couldn't be more proud for them to have you as their dad.
I know life hasn't always been easy. We've faced obstacles, disappointments, stress, and moments that tested us. But through it all, you've remained steadfast. You've never stopped fighting for our family, and you've never stopped loving me.
There are moments when I catch myself looking at our life and feeling overwhelmed with gratitude. Not because everything is perfect, but because I get to share it with you. The life we've built together is one I cherish more than words can express. I cherish your being, your soul, and your spirit.
Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for loving me on the days when I felt difficult to love. Thank you for encouraging my dreams, supporting my passions, and celebrating my successes as if they were your own. Thank you for every sacrifice you've made that no one else ever saw.
After eighteen years, I still choose you. I choose your heart, your loyalty, your strength, your humor, your kindness, and the incredible man you are. I choose the life we've built and the future we're still creating together.
You are the love of my life, my home, and my most favorite person. Thank you for being the amazing husband and father that you are. Thank you for 18 wonderful years, and for all the years still ahead of us.
I love you more than words could ever fully express, and more than any measurement could ever contain.
