Save the date! We are pleased to welcome artist Alan Bull for our next artist demo Sunday, June 21. His demonstration on perspective will be held 2:00-4:00pm at the Buttonwoods Museum, 240 Water Street, Haverhill.
All are welcome! Demos are free for GHAA members; $5 for non-members.
About Alan:
Alan Bull has been painting the New England landscape and teaching oil and watercolor workshops for over 30 years. Originally from Old Town, Maine, Alan received his BFA at the Philadelphia College of Art and he worked as a studio assistant to international glass artist Dan Dailey before embarking on a career as a painter, muralist, illustrator and art instructor. He has also enjoyed creating work in a wide variety of media including 3D photography and pastels, glass, pen and ink, ice sculpture, and printmaking.
Recent exhibitions include group shows at Reboli Art Center in Stony Brook, NY and Charles Fine Art in Gloucester, MA and solo shows at Portsmouth Book & Bar and the Massachusetts State House. Alan’s work is included in numerous private and public art collections, and has also appeared in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Boston Globe Magazine and on CBS TV’s ‘New England Living’ as well as on album covers, chocolate bars and beer labels.
Alan’s work as a plein air painter has received wide recognition. He was one of thirty national artists competing in the Cape Ann Plein Air festival in 2016 and 2018, and in 2019 Alan received two awards at the Parrsboro (Nova Scotia) International Plein Air Painting Festival. In 2019 he was also the featured visiting artist and juror at the Bisbee Plein Air Festival in Arizona. Alan also is a regular contributor to annual benefit auctions for the Firehouse Center, Anna Jaques Hospital, and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.
