WHY CHOOSE MAKO GUTTER AND SCREENS?
When you're investing in your home, you deserve a company you can trust. Here's a little about who we are and why so many homeowners throughout Southwest Florida continue to choose Mako Gutter and Screens.
β
Licensed & Insured
Unfortunately, many companies advertising on Facebook or commenting on local posts claim to be licensed and insured when they are not. In the aluminum industry, proper licensing matters.
For soffit, fascia, lanais, and entryways, a non-structural aluminum license is required. While Lee County no longer requires an aluminum license for gutter installations, many surrounding counties still do. It's important to understand that a business tax receipt or a Sunbiz registration is NOT an aluminum contractor's license.
We encourage homeowners to do their research and verify credentials before hiring anyone. You can find Mako Gutter and Screens listed among Florida's licensed aluminum contractors.
β
Years of Industry Experience
Our owner, Josh, has been working in the aluminum industry since the early 2000s and has over 15 years of hands-on experience building some of Southwest Florida's most beautiful aluminum structures.
Before starting Mako Gutter and Screens, Josh worked for several of the area's top aluminum companies, building pool cages, lanais, and aluminum structures throughout SWFL. His craftsmanship and attention to detail earned praise from inspectors who frequently described his work as some of the best they had seen in the field.
Eventually, he decided he wanted his own name behind the quality and craftsmanship customers received, and that's how Mako Gutter and Screens was born.
β
Honest Recommendations, Not Sales Pressure
One thing we hear all the time from customers is that another company tried to sell them products or upgrades they simply didn't need.
That's not how we do business.
If your home only needs standard screen, we're not going to push expensive upgrades. If your gutter system only needs a certain number of downspouts, we're not going to add extras just to increase the invoice.
We're also always happy to provide multiple estimates for the same project so homeowners can compare their options and make the decision that's right for them. For example, when estimating an undertruss lanai or entryway enclosure, we often provide pricing for both standard screen and Super Screen so our customers can clearly see the difference in cost and choose what best fits their needs and budget.
We believe an informed customer is a happy customer. Our job is to educate you on your options, explain the pros and cons of each, and help you make the best decision for your home, not pressure you into spending more money than necessary.
β
Fair Pricing Before and After Storms
Southwest Florida knows hurricanes all too well.
One thing we witnessed after major storms was companies dramatically increasing prices simply because homeowners were desperate for repairs. In some cases, prices varied based on the neighborhood.
We don't believe in that.
Everyone deserves fair pricing, especially after experiencing the stress of a hurricane or tropical storm. The only time you'll see our pricing change is when material costs increase from our suppliers. We have built our business on referrals, repeat customers, and trust, not taking advantage of people during difficult times.
β
Family Owned & Operated
When we say family owned and operated, we truly mean it.
Mako Gutter and Screens isn't a large corporation with layers of management, salespeople, and subcontractors you've never met. It's our family working together every day to provide the best possible service to our customers.
From estimates and scheduling to installations and customer service, our family is directly involved in every project. Natasha handles much of the office work, customer communication, marketing, and scheduling, while Josh and our son, Nathan, are actively involved in the field and on job sites.
Because we're family owned and operated, every project is personal to us. Our reputation is attached to every installation, repair, and enclosure we build. When you call us, you're talking directly to the people who care about the quality of the work being performed on your home.
β
Warranty Included On All Work
We stand behind our craftsmanship.
Every project we complete includes a workmanship warranty because we believe customers deserve peace of mind after making an investment in their home.
While no contractor can warranty hurricanes, acts of nature, structural movement, damage caused by other contractors, or factors outside of their control, we proudly stand behind the quality of the work we perform. If an issue arises due to our workmanship, we'll make it right.
A warranty is only as good as the company standing behind it, and we plan to be here for many years to come.
β
A Reputation Built On Trust
At the end of the day, trust is everything.
We've built our business through referrals, repeat customers, and recommendations from homeowners who appreciate honesty, quality craftsmanship, and fair pricing. Much of our business comes from past customers telling their friends, family, and neighbors about their experience with us, and that's something we're incredibly proud of.
We show up when we say we will.
We communicate throughout the process.
We answer questions honestly.
We treat your home like it's our own.
And we never forget that we're working for our customers, not the other way around.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted Mako Gutter and Screens over the years. We appreciate every recommendation, every review, and every opportunity to earn your business.
