Can I just say…you haven’t lived until you’ve heard a whole class of elementary school kids scream, “Ooooh!” in unison when you peel off painter’s tape? 🎨They were so excited! And so many of them in each class used the word “satisfying” to describe the moment. They get it.
I just LOVED this experience. I can’t stop thinking about the kid who, when arriving in the gym for the after school program, called out to me, “Hi, painter lady! It’s me, again!!!” ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

Well, I definitely had the cutest and most smile-inducing day in my painting career! I’m working on a mural for Bowman elementary school and classes signed up for 15-minute timeslots to come watch the process and ask questions. And, boy, did they have great questions!
Adorable: Did you sleep here last night? Are you lonely working alone?
Savvy: Are you using acrylic paints? Are they paying you enough? (LOL!)
Career-Focused: Did you go to art school? How did you learn to do this?
Process-Curious: What kind of tools do you use? What’s a compass? How did you get the drawing on the boards? How long will it take to finish? Where do you get your supplies?
And I got to ask them questions, too: Do you like making art? Do you recognize the color you chose for the mural? (Each class got to vote on a color.)
They were just the sweetest! So many of them told me it was beautiful, that I’m doing a great job, that they can’t wait to see it when it’s finished...

Happy 2nd anniversary to this installation at Mothership!
I’ve learned a lot since then, found some incredible clients, made a lot of walls (and hopefully people) happy!
