Spray foam! There are many times I hear people say this other guy is cheaper or sometimes 45% less. After doing this for ten years, I can tell you when I hear that it throws up a lot of red flags. And not because they are cheaper; it is because they're most likely not giving you what they said they would and installing less foam. This is going to lead to less R-value for your home, less savings, and the potential to cause damage to your home and costing you thousands more, all because you thought they were cheaper. Remember that good foam is not cheap, and cheap foam is normally not good. In the last two months, I've had to remove foam due to improper installation and contaminated foam and then reinsulate it properly. Others say they will give you a R-38, but in reality, it was an R-13-R-21. This is only 3-5 inches, and it should have been 9.7 or 10 inches for a 3.9 R-value per inch Open Cell foam. My goal is for anyone thinking about doing spray foam to become knowledgeable about what you're getting and how the product performs, because on any insulation, if you don’t have enough, the dew points can and will move to the inside and cause a lot of damage. Be safe out there, and if you have questions feel free to reach out, or I can do a free inspection at no charge. I simply want what is right for you and your home and family.
This jobe was a bad install from a national company.
