In a North Myrtle Beach attic, the duct collar had been installed flipped — nothing to grip the flex duct, which eventually peeled off entirely. A whole room with no airflow until somebody actually crawled up there. Five minutes of doing it right the first time would have prevented years of comfort problems and wasted cooling.

A properly sized Ruud heat pump replacement at a Longs home. Coastal-rated for salt air, level-set on a fresh pad, tied into a code-compliant disconnect, lineset re-run clean. "Drop-in fit" doesn't mean we dropped in the same size as the old unit — it means the new one was sized to the actual house and the existing duct system handled the airflow load correctly. The boring details are where Grand Strand heat pumps last 15+ years instead of 8.

New hire at the farm. Doesn't return calls, doesn't pull permits, won't be running any load calculations. But she's already better at second opinions than most of the inspectors on the Grand Strand — she walked the property, found three things wrong, and asked for snacks. We'll let you know when she's licensed in both Carolinas.

A Longs outdoor unit was installed with no service disconnect within sight of the equipment. Against code, against basic safety — and the inspector signed off on it. We installed a code-compliant disconnect, re-pulled the whip, and brought the wiring up to spec. Government doesn't catch bad work. We do.

A Ruud horizontal air handler set in a Sunset Beach attic with the details that keep attic equipment alive on the coast. Foam-sealed plenum connections, insulated condensate line, code-compliant secondary overflow pan, and a float safety switch in case the primary drain ever clogs. Attic installs are where corners get cut most often, heat, tight access, and nobody's looking. This is what one should look like.

Our most thorough inspector showed up uninvited. She found three things wrong with the supply vent and one thing wrong with us for being slow with the treats. Jokes aside, most homeowners on the Grand Strand have never had anyone actually look at their ductwork, vents, or attic airflow after the install. Static pressure, supply balance, return sizing, duct leakage. That's the stuff that quietly costs you cooling every summer. We'll do the real version. She'll supervise.

A Goodman horizontal air handler going into an Ocean Isle Beach attic — and going in the right way. Foam-sealed plenum connections so conditioned air actually reaches the rooms. Secondary drain pan with a float safety switch in case the primary drain ever backs up. Refrigerant lines labeled. Every detail photographed for the homeowner's folder. If the system needs service in five years, the next tech will know exactly what he's looking at.

Brand-new construction in Ocean Isle Beach, and an oversized AC was trying to muscle through a blazing-hot attic. The real problem was up there — no ventilation, no radiant barrier, no plan. An attic fan would have been cheaper and actually solved it. Oversizing the equipment just hides a building problem behind a bigger power bill. New construction isn't the same as done correctly.

A full property-wide HVAC replacement on a larger North Myrtle Beach home. Multiple Goodman condensers, every one sized to its own load with a per-unit Manual J, level-pad set, and tied to detailed documentation in the homeowner's folder. When a property runs more than one system, matching the equipment across the whole site is the difference between consistent comfort and a house with three different "personalities." This one runs as one home now.

Installed by Comfort Masters: New air handler installed in a tight utility closet at a local beach property.

Condos and beach rentals have unique HVAC challenges. The equipment is often in a small closet next to the washer and dryer, with limited space to work. These installs take careful planning to get the unit in, connect the ductwork and drain lines, and make sure everything is accessible for future maintenance.

Coastal properties also deal with salt air, higher humidity, and heavier use from renters running the system nonstop. That wears equipment down faster than a typical home. If you own a rental property and haven’t had the system checked recently, it’s worth getting ahead of problems before they become emergency calls during peak rental season.

We work with property owners and managers across North Myrtle Beach, Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, and the surrounding areas.
