Reflecting back to a couple of weeks ago to the Baker neighborhood historic home tour. Our beloved Stop & Smell the Wallpaper project was a featured home, and our very own Ashley was a proud docent! We had an amazing time, and we are so grateful to everyone who came to support our work and historic homes as a whole.

We’re excited to share that one of our all time favorite projects m, Stop + Smell the Wallpaper is participating in this year’s Historic Baker Neighborhood Home Tour on Saturday, August 8th from 11am-3pm!

This is a fun opportunity to see one of our most beloved projects up close, and to support an amazing neighborhood association at the same time! Ashley will be docenting, so pop by and say hi :)

You can purchase tickets in advance or in-person on the day of the tour at the tour check-in located at DCIS at Fairmont (520 W. 3rd Ave).

We hope to see you there!

Thinking back to last Thursday, when we spent an evening inside the Sports Castle with Historic Denver and architect Collin Kemberlin, learning what comes next for a building that has sat mostly quiet since 2016.

It went up in 1926 as a Chrysler showroom, which explains a lot once you are standing in it. The floors ramp and turn like a parking garage because that is essentially what they were, and the original stained glass from that first chapter is still in place. Look up outside and there are terra cotta finials along the roofline that most people on Broadway have never noticed, and the original factory windows are still there, waiting to be restored.

We spend most of our time in Denver’s older homes, so a building like this one feels familiar. Good bones, a real story, and a team willing to work with what is already there instead of starting over. Adaptive reuse at this scale takes patience, and hearing the thinking behind it firsthand was a good reminder of why this work matters.

Thank you to Historic Denver for opening the doors, and to Collin Kemberlin of Kemberlin Architecture for walking us through the plans.

So excited to introduce one of our latest builds: Beach Court! This sweet little Sunnyside home is receiving a thoughtful basement glow-up to include a kitchenette, bathroom, office, and guest bedroom. We are so excited to watch this delightfully playful and wonderfully functional transformation take shape. Stay tuned to watch the progress unfold 😍

This time last week, we were with our friends at Decorative Materials for a lunch and learn! We love connecting with the folks there, and it’s always inspiring to see their product lineup and learn more about what’s hot and what’s coming up. Thanks for having us! 🙏🏻

Third place for Best Secondary Bathroom at the NKBA Peak Awards, and this one means a lot to us.
It reads like a spa, but every decision in here was made for accessibility. A curbless shower, generous clearances, and brass grab bars that look like jewelry and helped this homeowner stay in the home she loves.

Thanks, NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter!

Second place for Best Kitchen or Bath Refresh at the NKBA Peak Awards this year, and we could not be more proud!
The cabinet boxes in the Little River Way kitchen are the original ones. They were solid, so we kept them and put the budget where it mattered: a bold new island, fresh counters, graphic tile, black hardware, and a faucet that can do some functional heavy lifting. Proof that you do not have to tear a room down to completely transform it.

Thanks, NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter!

Our sweet little pistachio powder room took first place at the NKBA Peak Awards this year for Powder Room Design, and we are thrilled!

This is the smallest room in our recent Golden house renovation, and easily the boldest. Green floor to ceiling, a concrete sink, a half-moon mirror, and the best asymmetrical light setup. We love her, and we’re so glad others did too.

Thank you NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter, and thank you to the clients who let us go all in.

Thinking back to this time last week when we were at the NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter Peak Awards! Such an amazing night with friends and industry peers who we enjoy dearly. We always appreciate this event for the opportunity to come together, celebrate one another, and connect over the thing we love the most: incredible, meaningful design!

This year, we took home 3 awards!
-1st Place for Powder Bath design
-2nd Place for Kitchen or Bath Refresh
-3rd Place for Secondary Bathroom

So honored and grateful! Stay tuned for our features on those winners coming up 🙌🏻
