Came across something cool when I was out doing my nightly egg collection and head count of the flock. I had no idea that their eggs showed up this way under a UV/black light!! I use the UV as it’s not so bright when I go in the coop and run, keeps the peace haha but this was a cool sight to see! No matter the color of the egg they all show up like this.
Enjoy and goodnight!

My friend tried a temporary “tactical sock” on his rooster to see if it might help cut down on crowing. He was worried about the neighbors complaining, so he crafted this ridiculous little masterpiece. Safety holes were cut for breathing, and it was only on for about 5 minutes before he took it right back off after the photo. He loves this rooster — it just looked so much like a tiny bank robber that I had to share. 😂

sourdough discard for brunch 🫡🤣
editing to add: i never feed my chickens actual bread or anything, just unfed sourdough discard in moderation. their digestive system can handle it and can be beneficial from the lactobacilli bacteria in it. they have had the pleasure of discard treats for over a year and they're fine 🙂 no, it's not good for other animals. you can google any information or questions you have about it with chickens to ease your mind if you're worried! Never had a single health issue with this flock, they are thriving 🤣

Can someone please help me? Why are my chickens bare on their bodies? Almost all of them are like this! They are 6 weeks old. Only feathers on the wings, which cover them only when they are sitting.

My chicks are naked! No feathers to be seen anywhere, no Roo, they have a high protein diet, with snacks of lentils, scrambled eggs, mealworms, soldier flies, blueberries….. they are very spoiled.
They have toys. Free range regularly, I never see any aggression or picking on each other, or themselves. And I watch ALOT. I see no mites or lice, but treated their coop and yard in case. They are on their second month of feather repair layer mash. All 7 lay every day.
What can I do to help them?

Okay what in the F is this?! I’ve owned chickens for 5 years and have never seen this before.

Should I?? Ultra rare breed caught my eye. Does anyone have any experience with them? I have leghorn and rhode islands currently. Would the Bielefelds mesh well with my flock?
