Our design of the hallway to a garage incorporates concrete walls elegantly clad in bookmatched Italian marble, showcasing intricate veining that imparts a timeless sophistication to the experience of arriving and departing the home by vehicle. Complementing this is a ceiling formed from bent walnut plywood, with a precisely engineered downturn that conceals a light cove, delivering subtle, ambient illumination to enhance the overall spatial ambiance and material interplay.

The concrete V columns didn’t have to be ordinary rectangles, so we shaped them into diamonds, giving the structure a unique profile that’s more sculptural and architectural.

Magic hour is one of the few moments each day when the exterior luminance drops to roughly match the interior luminance. That balance matters: the camera no longer has to choose between blown-out windows or a dark room, so you get clean detail in both the space and the view without the harsh contrast of midday. On top of that technical sweet spot, the sky is doing the other half of the work—warmer spectrum, softer shadows, and a deeper, more dimensional color gradient. The result is a photograph that feels calmer, richer, and more true to how a good room actually lives.

This island is 22 feet long.

One continuous Italian marble slab, designed to read like a single carved object—set in a show kitchen meant for hosting, not hiding.

The real chef’s kitchen is concealed behind a tall wood panel, so you get the drama up front and full functionality behind the scenes.

In the quiet embrace of twilight, this master bedroom—part of a meticulously designed 1,500-square-foot suite—affords an intimate front-row seat to the dramatic unfolding of a California sunset. Floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves the boundary between interior repose and the expansive horizon, where hues of amber and indigo paint the coastal hills. Beyond lies a private 1,500-square-foot planted roof deck, thoughtfully integrated with a sunken seating area and fire pit, inviting contemplation amid native flora. As architects, we craft spaces not merely to shelter, but to elevate the human experience in harmony with nature’s rhythms.

This master bedroom wet bar conceals a mini kitchen behind bifolding doors: a built-in espresso machine, Italian marble sink with insta-hot faucet, under-cabinet refrigerator, and plenty of storage for midnight snacks and beverages.
