“Holding space” for this hydrangea - no, like physically holding a space in my garden because look at the shape of these bloom panicles!

This is Powerball hydrangea from Proven Winners Shrubs which grows to be 3’-6’ tall and wide, wants part to full sun, and is hardy in Zones 3-9. ⚽️

An early birthday present from my wife that she gave me ahead of our recent trip to visit our friends up at Spring Meadow Nursery in Grand Haven, MI. 👕 Yes - it’s exactly what you think it is!

This is the “The Hydrangea Garden” short sleeve performance polo from Rhoback and while this post isn’t sponsored, I think we should advocate to create a pink version and a light green version (for the panicle hydrangeas of course)!

This one goes out to all the folks looking for boxwood alternatives which are native to North America! Meet Strongbox® Inkberry holly from Proven Winners Shrubs.

Not to get political 😉, but arborvitae typically aren’t the best evergreen screening option when you’ve got heavy deer presence. 🦌

Cedar Rapids False Cypress resists deer and is a great alternative to traditional arborvitae.

☀️ Full to part sun
📍 Hardy in USDA Zones 4-8
📐 Grows 12’-15’ wide and 30’ tall

I am the Hydrangea Daddy. I speak for the… shrubs?

I’ve only recently come to learn about Whip It Good arborvitae and I can’t get it out of my mind. The texture is unlike and other kind of arborvitae that I grow in my garden - you can bet that I’m already thinking about where I could put a couple!

📍 Hardy in USDA Zones 3-9
📐 3-5’ tall and wide
☀️ Part to Full Sun

It’s really rare to find a shrub that looks fresh out of a neon sign factory on Route 66, but Sunjoy Fast Neo Barberry from Proven Winners Shrubs is just that!

📍 Hardy in Zones 5-8
📐 Grows 4’ wide by 5’ tall
☀️ Thrives in full sun

Oh, and did I mention it’s deer resistant?!? 🦌
