Footings can be a total mess… especially in the spring.

Instead of digging holes and pouring traditional concrete footings, we use a jackhammer and steel rods to install Diamond Pier footings (basically creating a tree-root-like structure underground).

It’s engineered to resist frost heave in the winter and as you can see, it lets us work cleaner and faster, so you can enjoy your deck sooner.

These “mistakes” are really just unintended consequences we like to help homeowners avoid. But if you love a design feature enough, it might be worth the trade-off (and that’s totally fine too)!

Cable railing isn’t cheap.

It can run close to 2x the cost of aluminum.

So we don’t just throw it everywhere.

On the main deck? Worth it. The view is the whole point.

On the stairs? You’re not standing there soaking in the lake.

So we used aluminum that coordinates with the cable posts and keeps the look clean.

Same durability. Smarter allocation.
