Meeting great people at Chester County Career Center today. This gentleman. (The one in the black UA shirt) graduated from Chester last year. Went into our pre-apprenticeship program in January and is now ready to go to work. He’s bringing an 11th grade cousin to talk about applying next year. It’s a beautiful day at Chester County Career Center in SC. Working at a career fair and saw one of “ours”. He’s a rising senior graduating May 15. He starts the pre-apprenticeship program at the local on May 18. Not even taking a “senior week break”. That’s dedication. Great day at C4 in Cabarrus County. Spoke with a student who is joining us next month as a pre-apprentice. Spoke with a counselor who has a student who joined us as an apprentice last year. Spoke with 12th graders who are putting in applications now. Spoke with 11th graders about courses they should take in high school next year. Spoke with 7th graders about the heat needed when working with chrome. Spoke with teachers about the soft skills students need to be successful in the trades. Spoke with 9th graders about the importance of math skills. Successful day engaging with our future.
