FInally!! After many weeks of sanding, grinding and media blasting these are ready to have the straps installed. During this restoration I found that the original paint, which had yellowed, was powder coated. Took many weeks buy finally got it removed. Then I found that several of the tangs that hold the straps on had broken off. this required the fabrication and welding of new ones ; a welder ai an not. I gave it my best shot and hopefully it works. I will find out when I install them this weekend. There ae 92 of them, which NOBODY makes any longer. Requiring the purchase of 100 and 200 ft rolls. Then cutting to length. punching the holes and forming the ends. A long tedious process

With the exception of the mirror this next job is not anything wood related. As you can see by the pictures, this is an old patio set this is in really rough shape. I tried every chemical I own to try and break down the paint and rust but nothing worked. After attempting to grind it off I realized that it would take me a month of Sundays. So I broke down and got me a Harbor Freight portable media blaster and as soon as this wind dies down later this week I will be attacking this thing. As you can see in the one picture that the vinyl is held in place by to prongs on each side of the strap. No one sells this style any more. So I am going to have to buy the strap material in rolls and cut and punch each strap individually. I will post the completed project once I finish it.

Below is a before picture of a frame I was commissioned to restore with some after shots. During the process of working on this, I discovered that this frame was built by A. J. Fraser Antiques out of Danbury, CT in 1909. This was written on the interior of the backplate in pencil. Pictures I too of it did not come out very well as it was very faded'

Been absent for awhile but I am back. Below are a couple of pics of a George II walnut and parcel mirror that found it's way into the shop. This belongs to a gentleman by the name of Mark. Missing some pieces and some are broken off. But this will be repaired and given back to him.

Finally back in the swing of things. Had emergency surgery a couple of weeks ago (and of course with some minor complications), but all is good and back into the shop again. The day before being admitted into the Vets office another client contacted me I was more than happy to bring the projects into the shop.
The first is a French Provincial night stand, and the second is a either a Louis XIIII parlor table or a 19th Century Jacobean dining table. Unable to readily find any makers mark to help in the research. It is missing the center leaf but I will be reconstructing that for the client.
