I know its been several weeks since I last posted; but here is an update on the armoire. Disassembly and all repairs have been completed and all that is left is the assembly and top coat. In talking with the owner I asked if she wanted me to stick with the nail assembly or go with hidden screws. It was decided to go with the hidden screws, which I will be starting on today.

After dismantling the armoire I ran into several issue. Fortunately none are beyond repair.

FInally!! After many weeks of sanding, grinding and media blasting these are ready to have the straps installed. During ...

FInally!! After many weeks of sanding, grinding and media blasting these are ready to have the straps installed. During this restoration I found that the original paint, which had yellowed, was powder coated. Took many weeks buy finally got it removed. Then I found that several of the tangs that hold the straps on had broken off. this required the fabrication and welding of new ones ; a welder ai an not. I gave it my best shot and hopefully it works. I will find out when I install them this weekend. There ae 92 of them, which NOBODY makes any longer. Requiring the purchase of 100 and 200 ft rolls. Then cutting to length. punching the holes and forming the ends. A long tedious process
