☀️ Meet the dandelion, the bright yellow “weed” you’re sure to spot in DFW. While kids love making wishes on their fluffy seed heads, dandelions spread quickly and can be tough on lawns. Their deep taproots make them hard to remove, and once seeds blow around, they settle into bare or thin patches and multiply fast.

💡 Fun fact: Dandelions aren’t all bad! Every part of the plant is edible and packed with vitamins, and they’re an early nectar source for pollinators. Still, if you’d rather keep them out of your yard, pull plants when the soil is moist to get the whole root or use a selective post-emergent herbicide before they seed. A thick, healthy lawn is always the best defense against weeds like dandelions!
