Our spring-fed lakes are a unique oasis for trophy trout in a scenic landscape of snow-capped mountains, oak-covered foothills and volcanic outcrops. Four to twenty-three pound rainbows inhabit these intimate ponds and flourish in the fertile 55-degree habitat. It's a perfect home for trophy trout.

Eagle Canyon report by Andrew Harris: Here is a report from Peter who fished Eagle Canyon today: "The water was murky and higher than normal due to the rains. Due to the weather conditions, the fish seemed more finicky and timid on the takes. We discovered that if we used a small nymph dropper behind a wooly bu**er, the fish were more willing to grab. The combination that worked was a blood sucking leech with a black bird nest as a dropper. Later in the day, we also caught fish on olive and red wooly bu**ers as well as on micro mays underneath an indicator. Our fish count was 12 for 20. The biggest fish weighed was slightly over 14 lbs. Thanks again!"

Eagle Canyon report by Andrew Harris: Here is a report from the group that fished Eagle Canyon today:
"On our annual return trip to the Eagle Canyon, we had another great time chasing those huge rainbows that populate the two lakes. The best bite took place from the time we arrived at 8:30 am to around 11:00 am. Both lakes were producing. The fish were taking leech patterns in black or purple (size 6-10) and copper johns in sizes 10- 14 stripped in slowly behind an intermediate line. The bite slowed down during midday (perfect for our lunch break) but then picked up again in the evening. Dark leech patterns and hares ear nymphs were the ticket during the early evening bite. The fish caught yesterday ranged from 5-12 pounds with several in the 7-9 pounds range. They were very fresh and put up a very good battle when hooked. We look forward to another return trip to Eagle Canyon in the future."

Changing tactics throughout the day was key to staying in the zone. This year has been great for fish over 10 pounds. ECL, one of a kind fishery!!""

Eagle Canyon report by Andrew Harris: Fishing was pretty good at Eagle Canyon today. I left early, but father/son duo Patrick and Sean had already hooked 2-3 fish each and landed some nice ones. Action was best on copper johns, pheasant tails, and princes all in a size 14. These were suspended about 18" below an indicator. Open dates are vanishing quickly - get in touch soon to reserve your spot!

Eagle Canyon report by Andrew Harris: Here is a guest report from Rocky who fished Eagle Canyon today:The morning was incredible. Beautiful weather and steady takes from the time we started until around 1pm as long as we kept changing flies. No standout fly with the exception of maybe red and orange Squirmy Wormies and bead head princes. Had a lull mid-day, just in time to kick back and have a great lunch while viewing Mt. Lassen. Quite a few really BIG fish! Fishing picked up a bit late afternoon and shut down just in time for us to sit and view the amazing sunset. Can't think of a better way to welcome in the New Year!""

Eagle Canyon report by Andrew Harris: Here is a guest report from Tony who fished Eagle Canyon today:Eagle Canyon Lakes never disappoints and this year was no exception. Even though we were greeted with rain throughout the day it did not hamper the fishing at all. Our group had two rookies that had never fished Eagle Canyon before and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. Within the first 5 minutes of fishing we already had 2 hookups. The fish seemed to be attacking dark colored streamers with varying retrieval speeds. The fishing was pretty steady throughout the day with a lull around mid day. That gave us a chance to enjoy a BBQ lunch in the shed by the lake. The fish at Eagle Canyon are a breed all their own and pictures don’t do them justice. They are broad shouldered and run like a freight train when hooked. Our group hooked about 50 fish and landed around 32. Eagle Canyon Lakes is a 5 star facility and the fish are one of a kind. It is a bucket list destination for the fly fishing enthusiast.

Eagle Canyon report by Andrew Harris: Here is a fishing report from return guest Peter who fished Eagle Canyon today with his dad:
"We had an awesome time! We landed 21 fish out of 30. As you can see, we got to weigh one of the giants and the scale said 18.6lbs. The majority of the fish were on variations of a midnight cowboy. However, we did get some fish on variations of the copper john nymph. We got fish both on the strip and under an indicator. The fish were into a slow strip during the first half of the day and then got excited for a fast strip in the afternoon. Both ponds produced well."

Eagle Canyon report by Andrew Harris: Here is a guest report from Dave who fished Eagle Canyon today:Scot Brenton, his young nephew Will and Dave Earl fished ECL Thursday December 3. Conditions were great, fishing was fairly steady throughout the day. It was Wills 1st ever trout fishing trip. As usual for ECL flys
and tactics need to be changed regularly to stay in the grab zone. The size and fight of these fish is outstanding. ECL, one of a kind fishery!!
