As we wrap up Women in Construction Week, we want to recognize one of the incredible women helping shape the future of our trade.

Ashley Harris a proud veteran and Bricklayer apprentice is making history in the masonry industry. In 2025, Ashley became the first woman to ever win the Western States Apprenticeship Contest, breaking barriers and proving what skill, determination, and hard work look like in our craft.

Ashley represents the next generation of tradeswomen stepping onto the jobsite, into apprenticeship, and onto the competition floor—showing that masonry is a place where talent, dedication, and craftsmanship lead the way.

We’re proud to have Ashley training through Western Washington Masonry Trades Apprenticeship & Training (WWMT) and representing the Best Hands in the Business.

Proud to see the R&D Masonry crew represented in Las Vegas at the SPEC MIX Bricklayer 500 during World of Concrete 2026. 🧱💪

From competitors to supporters, this group showed up strong to represent the team and the trade on one of masonry’s biggest stages. Huge shoutout to Ben and Kris Torve for an impressive performance, and to everyone who came out to support, judge, and cheer on the competitors throughout the event.

Events like this highlight the skill, dedication, and community that keep our industry moving forward.
