Some of the equipment we come across in this industry is really fascinating. There is a ton of automation involved with car washes and this is what the “brains” of one of them looks like. There are also many more components involved that are not pictured.

We are often reminded of how cool this job is. Seeing the inner workings of how things function in large commercial buildings to your regular 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath house. It’s always something different and you never get bored.

Emergencies happen. Fortunately, we offer 24/7 emergency services for situations just like the following:

Saturday afternoon (12/6), someone backed into this 1000amp service at a strip mall in Marysville. We showed up and within a few minutes determined that we need to shut down the building and have the utility power disconnected immediately. The tenants understood but ultimately had to close business for the day. They were already aware that something was wrong as their larger equipment was inoperable.

As seen in the images, the internal components that are normally isolated from each other had made contact and ultimately blew one of the 1000amp fuses and severely damaged the copper bussing that is used to distribute power.

This scenario couldn’t have worked better given the circumstances. We fortunately were able to source the products needed and were able to relocate the meter and breaker to the only other available spot. Power was restored and everyone’s happy.

Installing generators and their necessary equipment is always a blast. This 200amp ATS (automatic transfer switch) is going to pair with a generator fully capable of this customers whole house demand. They’re happy. We’re having fun. We love this career path.

It has been a fun job doing this custom home on Lake Goodwin. The utility is going to be hooking up the permanent power this week. More to come later.

Wow time flies! Yesterday, 10/14/25 marks one year in business for us.

Panel swaps can have their challenges. This one was no different. The panel change itself was smooth and easy, but driving the 8’ ground rods into the rocky dirt proved to be quite challenging at this residence. Ultimately, some persuasive and choice words were used to get them in the ground, along with some hard work. Another happy customer.

We’re happy to continue to support Shorewood High School’s TSA program. These kids continue to do amazing things with today’s technological advances and all with very little financial support. We’re happy we can give back to our community and help the future of America.

We got ourselves a little refresher course on the Lutron Vive wireless control system. We learned some new things as well and put that in our tool box for later.

Lighting controls are pretty amazing. From local control to global network control, we think it is pretty cool to have simple and scalable flexibility on how your office, conference room or all around commercial lighting function. The Lutron Vive system is something we recommend to our commercial customers and we believe in the product.

We’d like to thank ERW Lighting and Lutron for hosting and catering this class. We really enjoyed it and took away some good knowledge.
