After more than a month of anticipation, today was the long-awaited “big meeting at the house” (*an Elisabeth original*) with Preservation North Carolina, the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office, the Brick Doctor, the GC, and the chief county inspector. We hashed out several issues and made plans to move forward with addressing issues on the backside of the house, the old back porch which will become the kitchen. More on that later in the week! Overall a GREAT day, especially since the county will allow power restoration after only a couple simple and cheap, quick fixes 🙌🏼 Hallelujah!!!

On a side note, after going back to Lowe’s for two more stains, I finally settled on Valspar’s “Cabin Plank” solid exterior stain. She’s looking good!! Now to get the last two thirds of the porch sanded, conditioned, and stained ahead of these storms coming Thursday.
