Travis Morgan here, owner of Texas Morgan’s.
Every winter I watch the same thing happen all over Central Texas…
People think the cold is “just temporary,” so they skip the small stuff — wrapping their pipes, trimming plants back, covering their shrubs, raking their leaves — and then a freeze hits and costs them thousands.
Here’s the truth nobody tells homeowners:
1. Exposed pipes are the #1 cause of winter home damage.
When the temperature drops fast, unwrapped pipes freeze, expand, and burst. A $25 wrap job can save you from a $3,000 leak repair and water-damage cleanup.
2. Plants need protection too.
If you don’t trim them back before a freeze, the dead growth traps moisture and ice. That’s how shrubs die overnight. Covering them keeps the root system alive so you don’t have to replace full landscape beds in spring.
3. Leaving leaves piled up creates rot and pests.
Moisture gets trapped, your grass suffocates, fungus builds up, and then you’re paying someone to “fix your yard” in March… when it could’ve been prevented in December.
Most people wait until something breaks.
My goal is to keep your home protected before that happens.
If you want winter prep done right — pipes wrapped, plants trimmed and covered, leaves cleaned up — me and my team at Texas Morgan’s can handle all of it.
Send me a message and I’ll get you taken care of.
