Honest elevator would like to congratulate Makenzi Kennedy for winning the $2500.00 college scholarship.

Makenzi Kennedy is currently attending Virginia Tech where she is concentrating in criminal justice.

Makenzi wants to work for the FBI and we wish her the best of luck!

I would like to thank our internal staff for doing such a great job while I represented my Great Grandfather Major Thomas Howie in France.

Major Howie Liberated the town of Saint Lo to help the US win back France and WWII. It was truly an honor to be invited to the town Ceremony and tour Normandy Beach.

I spent the afternoon with Girls for a Change, a program that empowers young black women by inviting them to design, lead, fund and implement social change projects that tackle issues girls face in their own neighborhoods. GFAC programs also focus on leadership skills, goal-planning, financial literacy, building a network, exposure, community engagement, skill-building, sisterhood building, and socio-emotional learning among other things. They also address various issues to include institutional racism, sexism, the digital divide, and the glass ceiling. I’m excited to continue to volunteer with them and to help prepare young black girls for the world of business!

We donated funds to them to go towards their new building. Currently they can only house a total of 40 girls, their current building operator will be tearing their building down in 1.5 years so they will need to raise $5.5 for a new building which will be able to hold 200 girls for their programs. I’ll link their site below so you can donate to their incredible mission!
