Here are some pics of the driveway rehabilitation we did in Cranfills Gap. Turned out great and the owners are very pleased with the turnout. All we need now is some rain to settle everything in.

We blew a hydraulic hose on our backhoe today….. shouldn’t be a big deal to replace, right????? WRONG!!!!! We had to remove the boom cylinder just to get to the other end to take the hose off!!!!! Ended up having to transport the machine back to our shop where we have the tooling to make such repair, then move the machine back! Sometimes I wonder who is designing this equipment!!! 😂…… on a good note, the machine is back together and ready for work.

People offen ask me: “why do you have that many dozers? You can’t operate them all at the same time.” Well….. it’s like only having one lawnmower when you have 5 acres to mow…… at some point in time, you’ll wish you had a spare mower…… same with dozers…. You need a backup to be able to continue with the job, but, the problem is, when ALL 4 dozers go down at the same time, it becomes HECTIC!!!!!! Hopefully, by Monday, we’ll at least have one machine ready to back to the field and get some work done. People say “ bad things come in 3’s……mine seem to come in 4’s lol.

It has been some time since we have posted anything here, but I thought this might be a good time…… As usual, we are WAY behind with our job schedule, however I do not believe ANYONE is going to complain about having green pastures at the end of July….. As things begin to dry out, we have been busy rebuilding different parts of our machines.
Here, we have our D5B in to repair both leaking blade lift cylinders, and to repair the trunnions that hold the dozer blade to the tractor.
Lots of cutting involved getting the old ones off, but the fit must be tight for the new and make welding them up a piece of cake.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE my job!!! Being able to be in Gods Country, and the company I keep is the wildlife. We are currently preparing for an upgrade to the ranch roads….. I am on the motorgrader blading off the grass and sod that is in the way. My company doesn’t seem to mind the intrusion.

Our D6D came in to the shop at the end of Sept….. it had an A/C line leaking, and in the 5 years of ownership, the engine never quite cooled properly, the dozer blade lift cylinders were too short, and the A/C in the cab was blowing the air on you fingers,…..SO……we re-mounted the A/C in the cab, pulled the radiator and had it cleaned, installed ALL fan pulleys, re-routed all new A/C lines, completed with couplings at the rear of the cab for future disassembly, installed new rods for the dozer blade lift cylinders, rebuilt the dozer blade tilt cylinder, and installed all new wiring for the lights and A/C(mice chewed the old wires)….. It’s been a LONG process, but we are happy to report the machine is ready to back to work!!!! It’s hard when you you are trying to do paying work, but must work on equipment too…. Many a midnight oil spent in the shop.
