Jacksonville has become one of the hardest-hit markets in the country. Some of our subcontractors have lost up to 70% of their crews. Framing labor on an average 2,500 sq. ft. home has gone from about $10,000 to $25,000+. Slabs are sitting on the ground with no one to frame them.
Every one of those costs ends up in the price of a home, at a time when families are already struggling to afford one.
Our industry supports secure borders. We also need a legal, workable path to the skilled labor that builds America’s homes. Those goals aren’t in conflict, and we will keep making that case on behalf of our members and the homebuyers they serve. “
