Please don’t do this !!!! Call Q&A pest control ‼️
A man in Kumamoto city, Japan accidentally blew up his apartment while trying to kill a single cockroach. According to The Independent, the incident happened on December 10, 2023, when the 54-year-old man sprayed a large amount of insecticide inside his home to eliminate the pest. Moments later, the apartment exploded, shattering a balcony window and causing minor injuries to the man.
Police investigating the scene found burn marks near a kotatsu, a traditional heated table, which may have triggered the blast. According to WION News, the flammable chemicals in the insecticide likely reacted with the heat source, causing the explosion. The National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan later used the case to warn the public about the dangers of using excessive insecticide in enclosed spaces, especially near heat or open flames.
The story quickly went viral, drawing both shock and amusement online. While it may sound like something out of a cartoon, experts say it’s a real reminder of how household chemicals can become hazardous if misused.
