Got Momma’s kitchen light working again. 💡
This one turned into a good troubleshooting job. The light fixture in the kitchen suddenly stopped working, but the breaker wasn’t tripped and other outlets on the circuit still had power.
After testing the circuit, I discovered the issue wasn’t the light fixture or the switch at all — it was an open neutral connection inside one of the outlet boxes feeding the circuit.
The neutral wire that feeds the light had come loose from the receptacle it was passing through. Because of that, the circuit had power but couldn’t complete the electrical path, which kept the light from turning on.
To fix it, I: • Pulled the outlet from the wall
• Removed the backstabbed connections
• Rewired the receptacle properly using the side terminals
• Restored the neutral feed through the box
Once the neutral connection was restored, the circuit tested correctly and the kitchen light came right back on.
Sometimes electrical issues aren’t obvious — but with the right testing and a little patience you can track them down.
Another small problem solved. 👍
