Finished a cedar trellis for a client today with the guidance and support of my favorite handyman, my dad. Nest Landscapes came to exist after many years of watching my parents run their own small businesses. I never thought I would start my own business, but it’s absolutely one of the best things I’ve done. I saw them build something they are proud of and I plan to keep doing the same!

*I know it looks like my dad did all the work in this reel but he isn’t the one that has to film things to post on Instagram*

Now is the best time to prune most woody shrubs and young trees AND support Twin Cities neighbors struggling to recover from ongoing ICE operations.

Business as usual is impossible while ICE terrorizes our beloved community. As a small business located in South Minneapolis, Nest Landscapes will be participating in the nationwide strike on Friday, January 30th. We stand in solidarity with our black and brown neighbors who have been taken, racially profiled, beaten, and harassed by ICE, legal observers Renee Good and Alex Pretti who were murdered by ICE in broad daylight, and the network of community members showing up every day for each other.

Please reach out if you are looking for ways to support hyper-local mutual aid efforts. If you know people in Minneapolis, check on them. We’re not okay. Call your representatives. Make art. Get trained on your rights and how to be a legal observer when ICE shows up in your city. Talk to your neighbors. Cry.

Before (late 2024) & after (july 2025). This garden is bursting with color - cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis), wild quinine (Parthenium integrifolium), palm sedge (Carex muskingumensis), and orange coneflower (Rudbeckia fulgida) are doing their thing!
