Every time March 12 rolls around, Gus and I get to have a wedding anniversary. A once-a-year privilege to reflect upon the path that led us to this day, through this past year or all that came before. A time when we can touch base about our truths, dreams, or successes, grief, fears, or desires. Afterall, we committed to choose each other every day for the past 8,030 days. I think it’s fair that 22 of those days can be dedicated to affirming that choice. Gus Leonard, I choose you every time and I am SO grateful!

January not only brought my 64th bday - it brought me to my 5th year of surviving advanced stage ovarian cancer. Statistics gave me a 40% chance of living to see five years so this milestone deserved celebrating. During these past 60 months, my family and community have held me through this journey-which includes 2 surgeries, 15+ months of chemo treatments, 24+months of recovery and I’m currently in treatment for my second recurrence. This party was for them and for my unwavering love of life. Thank you to those who donated to support the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition - Mountain & Pacific Regions The amazing organization that opened the doors for me to have a teal community of badass survivor sisters. 🙏🦋
