This week we were able to complete a backyard drainage project where heavy compacted soils, failed drains from years past, and poor grading caused water to sit and linger for too long.

This week we were back out in the dirt following weeks of rain. We encountered a black snake that eventually took a ride on the excavator while we continued work reinforcing washout areas along the roadside for a customer to control erosion.

We were also able to move a few engineering projects forward through the design and permitting process for stormwater design and floodplain development no-rise certifications.

Recently we obtained permit approval for a complex residential replacement septic system in Hendricks County. Once weather turns this system will be installed!

A little update on a personal project! After several months of working on it as we’ve had time, this driveway install and homesite prep is coming together. Nearly 1.5acres of clearing and grubbing, approx 100 trees recycled, culvert install, and rough grading completed. Final driveway grading and stone are next on the list.

Did you know engineered stormwater management solutions are required by law for any development over 1 acre? Cities, towns, and counties have recently strengthened regulation to protect the interest of the community; however, in rural areas historical disregard of these regulations has lead to unintended consequences. Neighbors disagreeing on whose water is whose, filling in “low spots” disrupting historical drainage patterns, and subdividing rural acreage without consideration of rainfall runoff and drainage has left many property owners having to deal with poorly draining sites.

Hate trying to describe “how bad” things were when we got all that rain “back in March”? Now is a great time to take photos and videos of the drainage issues you may be experiencing. It’ll help us solve those problems come dryer weather!

Recently we were able to help a customer on a commercial septic system in Indianapolis. Their dosing pump and control panel were worn out and no longer in working order. A new Liberty effluent pump, float tree, floats, and Liberty control panel were installed. We also gave the control panel pedestal a facelift to improve its look and lengthen its life.
