Site work has officially begun at McDowell Corporate Center, located at 8389 Water Tower Road in Longs, SC, marking the start of site development for our new corporate headquarters and mixed-use commercial campus.

Strategically located near the SC-31 and SC-22 interchange, McDowell Corporate Center is designed to serve as a modern hub for corporate, retail, logistics, and industrial growth in the rapidly expanding North Myrtle Beach region.

The development will include:
• A new 10,000 SF McDowell Construction corporate headquarters
• A 5,000 SF leasable commercial building
• A 15,000 SF warehouse/flex facility
• Three additional build-to-suit development parcels (8.5 acres, 3.5 acres, and 2.0 acres)

As part of a larger Planned Development District (PDD), the project also includes major infrastructure improvements along Water Tower Road, including roadway widening, sidewalks, landscaping, street trees, and a dedicated corridor for the East Coast Greenway.

Positioned near major regional operators including UPS, Amazon, Pepsi Bottling Co., ABC Supply, and others, McDowell Corporate Center is intended to support continued economic growth, business expansion, and job creation throughout the area.

Project Update – Finklea Fire Station | Station 6 | Loris, SC

Construction is moving forward on the new Horry County Fire Rescue Finklea Fire Station, located at 3197 Highway 9 Business in Loris, South Carolina.

The new 9,700-square-foot facility broke ground in 2025 and will replace the existing Station 6, providing expanded capacity to better support the growing emergency response needs of the Loris community.

The new station will house the same equipment and units as the current Station 6, including Squad 6 with 12 positions, Battalion 4 with three positions, Tanker 6, Boat 6, and Utility 6.

McDowell Construction is proud to partner with Horry County Fire Rescue on this important public safety project as construction progresses toward a planned September 2026 completion.

Project Update – Verizon Cellular Sales Center | Naples, FL

Construction is progressing on a new Verizon Cellular Sales Center at 6658 Collier Blvd in Naples, Florida.

The 2,500 sq ft ground-up retail facility will expand Verizon’s presence in the area and provide a modern, customer-focused environment for sales and service.

McDowell Construction is leading the delivery of this new retail location, with work continuing toward early 2026 completion.

Project Update – SC State PSA Midlands Cluster Facility | Cayce, SC

Construction is progressing on the PSA Midlands Cluster Facility renovation in Cayce, SC for South Carolina State University.

The project includes full interior demolition, selective exterior demolition, and major upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, along with site and accessibility improvements.

McDowell Construction is pleased to be delivering these improvements for South Carolina State University as work continues on the project.

Project Update – Greensboro ABC Store | Greensboro, NC

Construction is progressing on the new Greensboro ABC retail store at 1214 Redbourne Drive in Greensboro, NC.

The project features a modern steel-frame building with energy-efficient systems and a customer-focused retail layout, expanding service for the Greensboro community.

McDowell Construction appreciates the opportunity to build this project for the Greensboro ABC Board, with the store expected to open in late summer 2026.

Project Update – Whiteville DMV & SHP Offices | Whiteville, NC

McDowell Construction has been selected by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to complete the renovation and upgrade of the Whiteville DMV and State Highway Patrol Offices in Whiteville, NC.

The project will modernize the facility to improve public service operations and support regional public safety infrastructure.

We are proud to partner with NCDOT on this important project serving the Whiteville and greater Columbus County community.

Project Update – PGA Learning Lab | Coastal Carolina University

McDowell Construction is making progress on the new PGA Golf Management Program Academic Learning Lab at Coastal Carolina University, located at 107 Citadel Drive in Conway, SC.

The 16,000 sq ft two-story facility will replace the original 1969 clubhouse at the General James Hackler Golf Course and serve as a teaching and operational hub for CCU’s accredited PGA Golf Management program.

The building will feature a pro shop and restaurant on the first floor, with classrooms, swinging and putting labs, and offices on the second floor.

We’re proud to be part of this project and look forward to sharing more progress updates as construction moves toward summer 2026 completion.

Project Update – ABC Supply | North Myrtle Beach

McDowell Construction is making strong progress on the new ABC Supply facility at 8501 Water Tower Road in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The project includes a 55,000 sq ft warehouse and office facility on 8 acres, designed to expand ABC Supply’s capacity to serve contractors and customers throughout the Grand Strand and surrounding markets.

This state-of-the-art facility will combine modern warehouse efficiency with a customer-focused office and service environment, supporting continued growth in the region’s construction industry.
