🚨 One of the most important roofing components is also one of the most overlooked. 🚨

It’s called Counter Flashing.

Counter flashing is the metal flashing installed into brick, stone, stucco, or masonry walls that covers and protects the top edge of step flashing.

Its job is simple:

✅ Keep water from getting behind the flashing
✅ Protect wall-to-roof transitions
✅ Direct water safely onto the roof surface
✅ Prevent leaks around chimneys and walls

Without properly installed counter flashing:

❌ Water can get behind the flashing
❌ Brick and masonry can absorb moisture
❌ Interior wall and ceiling leaks can occur
