I don’t make many posts, but this is something that I feel needs to be said because I’m sure it’s not addressed enough if ever. When I bid jobs, I bid them not knowing what my competitors‘ bids for the same job are. I don’t know and I don‘t want to know what some other business has bid. My bids are not not figured up according to what my competitors are doing. If I can’t tell you what it would cost for me to do a job without knowing what my competitors have bid, then I’m probably not good at my job. I encourage everyone to get multiple bids (even if I’m the first to bid) because it keeps everyone honest and ensures that prices stay fair. It’s unethical for one company to ask what another company’s bid was, as it gives an unfair advantage to whoever shows up last, and it’s just as unethical for a customer to reveal that information. God Bless, stay safe, and, as always feel free to reach out if you ever have any tree-related problems!
