Good morning! It’s a beautiful July 16th, and we’re here in Millbury, Massachusetts.

Today we’re replacing this old 100-amp electrical service. Right now, this home has two meters—an old time-of-use meter and a standard meter. We’re upgrading everything to a single 100-amp meter-main and replacing the old Federal Pacific panel inside with a brand-new Eaton 100-amp main breaker panel.
The biggest reason for this upgrade is the overhead service cable. The outer insulation has broken down, leaving the conductors exposed to the weather. Once that happens, water can work its way into the cable, travel down into the meter and panel, and cause corrosion. Left unchecked, that corrosion can become a serious electrical and fire hazard.

Completed service upgrade in Massachusetts.

We removed the old low-mounted meter setup and installed a new code-compliant meter/main combination at the proper height with updated service equipment and grounding. The new setup provides a much cleaner installation, safer access for utility and service work, and a more reliable electrical service for the homeowner moving forward.

Projects like this are becoming more common as older electrical services begin showing signs of age, water intrusion, corrosion, or no longer meet current code and utility requirements.

Another service upgrade project getting started.

This existing meter setup is mounted too low and no longer meets current installation standards. We’ll be replacing it with a new meter/main combination installed at the proper height to bring the service up to code, improve safety, and provide a cleaner, more reliable setup for the homeowner.

Out in Winthrop today replacing old weathered outdoor outlets with new weather-resistant GFCI protection and updated in-use covers. Safe, clean, and functional with an incredible waterfront view overlooking Boston Harbor.
Definitely one of the better office views for the day.

Sometimes it’s the small things that become big problems.

These outdoor outlets were heavily weathered, broken, and no longer functioning properly. Missing and damaged covers allow moisture into the device over time, creating safety concerns and causing the outlets to fail.

We’ll be replacing these with new weather-resistant GFCI outlets and updated in-use covers to restore proper protection, safety, and functionality while also cleaning up the overall appearance.
