And we thought things were wrapping up but hurricane season just said, Hold my beer!!!! 🤪
We will be keeping a close eye on these twins but in the meantime make sure extra supplies are in place.
Well this could be ODD.
And quite funky.
Have to be honest. This is easily one of the more interesting & wild runs of the EURO model I have ever seen in the Atlantic during hurricane season. Twin hurricanes/tropical storms in such close proximity between Florida and Bermuda early next week. After this image who knows how they would evolve or track. Everyone from Florida to North Carolina should follow the forecast closely.
Lots to sort out. Generally in the other parts of the world where these "Fujiwhara" collisions or interactions of tropical systems are more common, one ends up being much stronger, and the other much weaker. It is very rare for both to be intense and so close to each other. We'll see what happens.
The “Fujiwhara” effect could pinwheel or eat one of the hurricanes essentially from the other. They can spin around each other in a circle, like kids holding hands and twirling. Sometimes, one gets bigger and eats the smaller one, or they just bounce apart. This fun (but actually dangerous) dance is named the Fujiwhara effect, after a smart scientist who figured it out.
See my previous post if you did not. Florida appears very unlikely to have any risk of direct impacts or a landfall. While I can't rule it out definitively yet, seems very unlikely and not worrisome. For the Carolina’s, definitely watch much closer next week but an approaching cold front could kick the “left” storm out to sea too, but far from a certainty. Many model members show a more impactful or concerning track closer to land there (Carolina’s). Stay tuned.
