Happy Labor Day Weekend! 🇺🇸

We're not here to talk about your furnace.

We're not going to remind you that heating season is coming.

We're DEFINITELY not going to mention that one random 48° Connecticut morning is probably lurking right around the corner.

Nope.

Today we're choosing denial. 😂

Fire up the grill. Go to the lake. Sit by the pool. Have a b**r. Enjoy the extra day off if you're lucky enough to get one.

The boilers can wait until Tuesday.

😳❄️ DID YOU KNOW?

Your AC can only breathe as well as THIS filter allows it to. 👇

Yep... that's an actual air filter. 😂

A filter this clogged can seriously restrict airflow through your HVAC system. During the summer, that can contribute to:

💸 Longer run times and higher energy use
🧊 A frozen evaporator coil
🔧 Unnecessary stress on your equipment

💡 Homeowner Tip: Check your filter regularly during cooling season. How often it needs changing depends on the filter, your system, pets, dust levels, and what's happening in your home—so don't rely only on the date. Take a look at it!

A $10–$30 filter is a whole lot cheaper than an HVAC service call. 😉

💰 An HVAC Tip That Won’t Cost You Anything
We know everything is expensive right now—groceries, electricity, gas... pretty much existing. 😅

So while, yes, we’re an HVAC company, not every piece of advice we give needs to end with “give us a call.”
If you have mini-splits, one of the easiest things you can do yourself this summer is:
🧼 CLEAN YOUR FILTERS!

Mini-split filters are typically reusable and can collect a surprising amount of dust during cooling season. When they get dirty, airflow can be restricted, making your system work harder to keep you comfortable.

The good news? You usually don't need an HVAC technician to clean them.
✅ Turn the unit off
✅ Open the front cover
✅ Carefully remove the filters
✅ Vacuum them or rinse them according to the manufacturer's instructions
✅ Let them dry completely
✅ Reinstall them and you're done!
It takes a few minutes, costs basically nothing, and can help maintain good airflow and keep your mini-split operating efficiently. ❄️
We make our living working on HVAC systems—but we'd rather help you prevent a service call when it's something you can safely handle yourself.

🇺🇸 Local businesses supporting local businesses.

Today we had the opportunity to help out our friends at American Legion Post #2 by diagnosing an issue with one of their rooftop HVAC units.

After tracking it down, we found the culprit wasn't the unit itself—it was a condensate drain piping issue. Once corrected, the system was back to doing what it's supposed to do... keeping everyone cool. ❄️

🔥 101° Outside? Here's why your A/C may not be keeping up.
Many people expect their home to stay at 68° no matter how hot it gets—but that's not always realistic.

On extremely hot days, most properly functioning systems are designed to maintain about a 20° temperature difference between the air going into and coming out of the system. That means your A/C may run almost continuously, and that's completely normal.

If your home isn't cooling at all, your system is freezing up, or warm air is blowing from the vents, it's time to have it checked.
Don't wait until a complete breakdown!
