Howdy, friends!! My goodness it’s been a minute since I posted an update! I’m taking a few days off to rest my back and legs, but here’s a rundown of what’s been going on at Plank & Plane Woodworks…

In June I delivered two deck planters for a returning client’s poolside oasis! These 10-inch beauties really tie the space together and offer a splash of color to the sparkling cool water. 🏊🏻‍♂️

Also designed and built an elevated planter for a dear friend’s new home! Jennipher wanted something big enough to teach her boys how to tend a garden, and time spent with the people you love is never time wasted. 💯

July proved trying. High temps coupled with ugly-awful humidity meant I could only work at night. But perseverance won the day, and I delivered three boxes to my neighbors for their vegetable garden! 🥕

The month closed out with my biggest project ever: a monster horseshoe-style neighborhood garden! It looks impressive and the veggies produced have been super delicious! 😋

August came in like a jalapeño on fire, but I satisfied two commissioned pieces: an apple crate for an elderly patron and a flower box for a front porch! 🌷

I also built two pieces for my own yard. First was a three-tiered standing planter with a framed lattice backdrop, which is perfect for begonias and impatiens. 🌼

But I’m most proud of a multi-tiered corner planter. This was really fun to sketch out and build! The finished piece features large boxes for mixing plant species, and the contrasting tones offer a pop of color to complement my collection of lilies. 🌷

Looking ahead to September, I’ve accepted a commission to build a bird condo! The finished piece will offer housing for eight nests. Now if only I could figure out how to run plumbing and cable TV! 🏡

Howdy, friends!! You wouldn’t know it by looking at a thermometer, but Spring is here and our first week back in the shop has been a busy one!! 🌤️

So far this season I’ve designed a new style of planter box for a pool deck; sent four apple crates off to their new home; began assembly on a pair of flower boxes and built enough birdhouses to fill a Conestoga wagon!! 🦜🪺

Just a reminder that Mother’s Day is May 10, and a beautiful flower box makes a mighty fine gift for the special lady in your life! And just like always, there’s no charge for anything we produce—so send me a note if something catches your eye.🌷
