New stool, new color, I’ve been working on this one off and on for some time and pretty happy with how it came out. Also perfecting the linseed oil paint application. Linseed oil paint from Heron Linseed Oil Paint thinned with tung oil from SutherlandWelles to thin out the paint aiding in applying the paint as well as speeding the curing process (24 hours and dry to the touch). I’ve been applying two coats and this was taken just after the first coat was applied. The 2nd coat should deepen the color as well as add some sheen to the finish. I really like how the oil soaks into the wood revealing the grain.

That’s a wrap for 2026 classes! It was a great week making the classics Berea Rocker, a . These 4 rockers all came from the same walnut log and the color is amazing. These guys smashed the build making some gorgeous chairs for themselves. Thanks so much for a great week of camaraderie and .

I’ll have the 2027 classes schedule up in a few weeks as the website gets a rebuild.

Fall is fast approaching and the colors are starting to change. Such a change since coming back from Texas Woodworking Festival with 90 degree heat everyday. Such a good time and so many new friends. Thanks all

It’s a wrap, what a great event Texas Woodworking Festival presenting all things chairmaking. So good to have all the conversations and see so much interest in chairs.

2-slat side chair with dark green linseed oil paint and a split reed seat. This is fast becoming a favorite. Designed by Jeff Lefkowitz it sits beautifully as well as pleasing to the eyes.

All set for the annual Berkshire Woodworkers Guild show this weekend. This show showcases the immense talent in the area and helps to raise scholarship funds to support furniture making schools. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Finishing up a high Sack Back Windsor for the upcoming Berkshire Woodworkers Guild Show Labor Day weekend. Come to Berkshire Botanical Garden to see some craft and support a silent auction. Proceeds go to scholarships to individuals going into furniture making for a living.

This has become one of m favorite chairs. The high back adds a bit of flexibility adding to the comfort factor. Not sure what color it will get painted yet some come for the surprise at the show.

Simple way to drill a compound angle is very useful whether in a chair or other furniture.

I’ll be presenting understanding and drilling compound angles Texas Woodworking Festival this coming September.
