Kicked it off today with my first few speckled trout of the swimbait season.
I was hoping to land a few on a Ladyfish Glidebait since I have a drop coming, but that was not the case at all. The only bites I could get were on the “Hoe-Down”Cocahoe, which is a slow sinking countdown.
Wind was piping pretty good, tough to fish for dang sure. Without spot-lock, I’d say almost impossible!
I kept 7 for the kitchen and let a few more go.
Todays essential ingredients were:
5/8 oz Hoe-Down; Medium Mod/Fast 6’8” custom Mud Hole blank; 25 year old Daiwa Sol finesse baitcaster. And a Minn Kota Ultrex from Trolling Motors Unlimited & Marine
It’s here and it’s swimbait time for me.
