With an incredible amount of collaboration from some highly experienced native plant experts and after approximately 5 years in the making, our first ever official Louisiana Native Professional Certification program will happen June 14th and 15th.

The manual has just arrived recently fresh from the printers, ready for the first class of landscape and environmental professionals. There is still room to join us. Register by May 30th to be some of the first in Louisiana for the opportunity to be certified as a Native Plant Professional!

Contrary to popular belief, termites do in fact infest healthy trees. They eat treated lumber, creosote treated treated telephone poles and railroad ties, as well as asphalt impregnated felt paper. Termites are opportunistic and will eat through a variety of materials in order to gain access to a food source.

UF IFAS Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center scientists have confirmed that two of the world's most destructive invasive species are interbreeding and even established colonies in some South Florida neighborhoods.
