So you may have seen our early voting giveaway post and stories over the last day. Well today, we got a big call from someone in Baton Rouge telling us to take it down OR ELSE… Apparently, the language of our post could lead people to believe that we were attempting to meddle in their voting, or buying their vote, or whatever…

We spoke to an attorney this evening and she can see the “gray area” that said person in BR is using to make calls like this to multiple people. She agrees with us that the post is not at all what is being implied, but advised that rather than yackety-yack about it with that man, we should go ahead and cancel the drawing and giveaway.

Despite that, we hope you still go and vote early. And if you want more specific answers about this situation, you can look into the two statutes sent to us, or call or email them people and ask about it. They can probably tell you more about it than we ever could.

This day marks the last day that you can book a board. Our last deliveries will be on 10/30 with 10/31 orders being pickup only!

It’s been an emotional few weeks but we are so grateful and so proud to have been a part of the New Orleans food scene in our own little way. We hope to see you over the next week!

✨Here’s one of our last little !✨

A few weeks ago, under the tutelage of Gro-Nola, we learned how to turn some of our surplus fruit into yummy jams and jellies! We love how technical the process is and have been taking our time to develop a few recipes that we love. We’ve finally reached a point where we are happy with two of our creations - but we had to limit our tiny production run to one…

So here it is! This little 2 oz. jar is our cape gooseberry jam. It’s sweet, tangy, tart, and a little spicy (from a bit of ginger), and pairs perfectly with charcuterie and hard cheeses. We’ve even paired it with grilled pork chops - which might be my absolute favorite pairing! We’re still struggling with what to call it. We feel like it should have a very New Orleans name… maybe if y’all suggest a name we like, we’ll have a jar for you to pick up and try!

Anyway, each board over our last couple of weeks (we close on 10/30) will have a 2 oz jar of this. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and we thank you for your support over the years! Xo, Liz
