200+ Projects | $2.3B program

The City and Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans are working together to implement an unprecedented capital improvement program to restore the City’s damaged infrastructure. Using a combination of local and Federal funds, the $2.4B program will be the most comprehensive that our region has seen in a generation. Work will include more than 200 individual projects and consist of repairing all or

portions of about 400 miles of roadway. There will be several types of construction: Full Depth Reconstruction; Patch, Mill and Overlay; Patch Concrete; Incidental Road Repairs; Bridges; Non-Paving Incidentals; and Streetscapes.

Project Update: Filmore South Group D

NOTICE OF WEEKEND WORK

The City of New Orleans construction contractor, Murphy Pipeline Contractors, LLC., will be performing sidewalk and driveway forming work in an effort to remain on schedule.

WHEN: Saturday, May 24, 2025, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.

WHERE: Pratt Dr. (King Dr. to Paris Ave.)

During this time there will be large trucks and heavy equipment hauling materials in the area. Public safety is our priority; residents and commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near the construction site.

About the Project

This weekend work is part of the $17.5M Filmore South Group D joint infrastructure project with the City of New Orleans’ Department of Public Works and Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.

Once complete, residents will experience an overall improved quality of life as the project will improve drainage, repair streets, curbs and sidewalks and install new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections. The project is scheduled to be completed in Summer 2025.

NOTICE OF SERVICE DISRUPTION

** WATER **

You may experience low or no water pressure in this area.

During this time, please find an alternative water supply.

The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works’ contractor Infinity Construction & Trucking, in conjunction with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, will be performing a water tie-in.

WHEN: Thursday, May 22, 2025, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

WHERE: Ring Street (Canal Blvd to Allen Toussaint Blvd)
Gem Street (Ring St to Sardonyx Street)
Allen Toussaint Blvd. (W-Bound) (Ring St to General Haig St.)

When water is restored, run your faucets for 5 minutes to flush out the lines before resuming regular use.

If water is not restored within one hour of listed end time, residents will be contacted by the Office of Strategic Engagement and Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans via text messaging alert and/or community canvassing.

About the Project

This temporary disruption of services is part of the $2.4M Lakeshore Group E joint infrastructure project with the City of New Orleans’ Department of Public Works and Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.

Once complete, residents will experience an overall improved quality of life as the project will improve drainage, repair streets, curbs and sidewalks and install new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections. 🏊 Lincoln Beach: Industry Day Part II 🏖️

On Thursday, the The City Of NOLA hosted Lincoln Beach: Industry Day Part II at Joe Brown Gymnasium in New Orleans East! This event provided residents, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders, with an opportunity to not only learn about the Lincoln Beach Redevelopment Project, but also figure out how they could get involved in the development process! Master plans were made available for public consumption and a variety of partners organizations came out to share information about this exciting project.
