Had a visit from a Giant Swallowtail today. It filled with nectar from my native Coral Honeysuckle and laid eggs on my rue. Beautiful. This is the benefit of planting natives and host plants.

So it’s March 13 and my neighbor hired someone to blow his 1 acre. I’m sorry for all the over wintering creatures that were blasted away. Please wait until at least May 15th if you feel the need to tidy up. Our pollinators need time to emerge.
