Two young Black girls sit together with a Bible in their hands. The surrounding palm trees suggest they are in the Caribbean. This is a rare example of a 19th-century European portrait of Black sitters. The date of the painting coincided with the increased campaigning of Black Caribbean clergymen for an end to slavery in the British Empire. The girls' smart dress and Bible reflect their self-sufficiency and the literacy in Caribbean religious communities. These factors were used to encourage the emancipation of enslaved people in the Caribbean.

3RD ANNIVERSARY
CELEBRATION
ON NOVEMBER 20TH

THE SKIN TONES PROJECT/MOVEMENT

You are invited to join portrait artists from around the world in making November 20th an historic celebration of skin tones - the ribbons that wrap our inner content.

"I believe only when we begin to appreciate the gift of evolution we will have some understanding of our greatest asset—our beautiful diverse skin tones." Samuel Adoquei

The few complexions mankind began with continue to multiply and change. Wherever you look, you can see how far our anthropological evolution has come. More forward-thinking leaders across the globe are making efforts to embrace the diversity of this growing rainbow of beautiful skin tones. Monks meditate, religious and charitable communities join to create a more peaceful loving universe, and many others - including good politicians, entertainers, and athletes - are making strides toward improving human relations.

Why not artists? In the past, artists have not had a formal platform to fully focus on the beautiful diversity of flesh tones. With The Skin Tones Project, you now have a meaningful way contribute your talent to improve our world. Help us return to our noble mission, to embrace and celebrate our gift of evolution’s beautiful diverse skin tones. It is a call to duty to share the beauty we see when we paint people.

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE: The project is about spreading the word of evolution’s gift of diversity. Do something that includes two or more people of different skin tones/shades or complexions.

Create a portrait with the focus on beautiful flesh tones,
Share a meal or just meet with one or more friends of different colors for fun.

Take photos!

Spread the word.

Celebrating The Gift of Evolution:

The few complexions we started with are multiplying and changing to help our human race evolve and advance. With art, paint and color lets celebrate our beautiful skin tones.

We will post beautiful paintings of people and portraits from across the globe by artists of different styles from different times painting beautiful skin tones and complexions.

We will have bi-monthly exhibitions; BITESIZE articles, REVIEWS and FREE DOWNLOADS. Be prepared to be enlightened, inspired and encouraged. Go through the pages of our website and feed yourself with ideas you need for tomorrow.

We believe in making the gift of evolution: beauty of our skin tones and complexions the new frontier in the pursuit of peace, love and harmony.
