If you’re anything like me, you have personal and professional mini-meltdowns more often than you’d like to admit.

Especially as an entrepreneur, the ebb and flow of business can be paralyzing at times.

For far too long, I believed I didn’t need anyone or anything but myself.

Sadly, too many women executives don’t have the support system they need and want, and it gets lonely and as humans, the more isolated we are, the more our brains can play tricks on us.

We receive messages that we are “needy” or “emotionally weak” if we want connection with others. We are told we can do it all without help and without support…that’s a BIG. FAT. LIE.

We can do amazing things - and we can do amazing things alone. That doesn’t mean wanting connection and community is bad.

We can be fiercely independent AND have the support and connection we need.

When women connect and support one another, we communicate more clearly, we understand ourselves better, we rise together. Community can help us clarify where we want to go and even how to get there.

I am so grateful for the amazing executive women in my life who talk me off the ledge, help me see reality vs the stories I tell myself and who support me no matter what.

It’s not YOU who is broken, it’s the SYSTEM that is broken. From the time we are little girls we are taught to “be nice” and to “get along”.

We are taught and conditioned to believe that when a little boy or teenage boy is picking on you, even hitting you or shoving you, it’s because “he likes you” and he "just doesn’t know how to express his feelings" and so we are taught to believe we can't set boundaries.

We learn to navigate our world through the lens of lived trauma and diminished credibility which often leads us to accept a path of least resistance…
