The Three Blind Mice. You might recognize that as a children’s novel, but mice and most rodents are almost completely blind! Rodents rely on smell to communicate and travel. Rodents will leave behind sebum trails (dark rub marks, see second photo) along with leaving pheromones in their excrements to inform other rodents if the area is safe, a food source, shelter, etc. it’s important that you always wipe away these areas if you have an active rodent infestation to deter rodent from returning. However the best defense is having a licensed pest control specialist service your dwelling at least 1x a month.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK! Today we highlight one of our newcomers, Tyrese, who is one of our apprentice technicians. but come April he will be fully licensed!With the weather changing , please be sure to engage you PMP (pest management professionals) to ensure there is proper rodent control on your property. Rodents will also try to use stations as nesting areas if not checked often (NEXT SLIDE TRIGGER WARNING). We are proud of our techs hard work and dedication to service.

Black Widow prides itself on being a step ahead of the competition. We are happy to announce to be partnering with Dow/Corteva on utilizing their “ActiveSense” pest/rodent monitoring system. Not only will it allow us to further promote IPM, but it will take a large burden off our essential staff in knowing exactly where the main hotspots of rodents and pests are without the needless bending and inspection of devices that are not getting activity. It’s a Win Win, along with providing valuable data to our clients and our management staff on taking necessary steps to keep your home, office, public building or park safe from rodents and pests! Starting today we are going to do weekly highlights.. who knows maybe we’ll do 2x a week highlights. Today we highlight one of our techs, Malvin who is one of our expert rodent trappers. Consistent service is the best way to eliminate rodents as they reproduce rapidly. This is a site we service weekly with both mechanical traps and rodenticide. Part of IPM is incorporating physical controls and not only relying on poison control. Better for the environment too! And of course, Mask up!!
