While some land surveyors believe that a Tape Survey isn't a survey at all and a few others believe Tape Survey to be a meaningless term, actually a Surveyors Tape (sometimes referred to as a Tape Measure) is a valuable tool and Tape Surveys are important, in my opinion. In fact there are more than 5 types of Tapes used in Land Surveying for linear measurements.

Steel Tape
Invar Tape
Synthetic Tape

Back when the community was started in 2007, every other land surveyor community only focused on Land Surveyors in the United States. You may have read the land surveyor from Newnan's post about what a Boundary Survey is. Today I want to talk about Boundary Disputes. In fact, I want to point out 3 types of Boundary Disputes and explain the differences.

In response to many requests for advice on boundary disputes we have compiled a set of guidelines but ultimately if the case is unresolved, due to the complexity of the law, you will need to contact a specialist lawyer. First and foremost with any boundary dispute you need to establish the facts before discussing these with a neighbor to try and resolve the issue amicably or before taking the matter further with legal action.
