Lots on my needles!

Ok so I’m normally a one or two project at-a-time person - what type of knitter that makes me - I never know?! 🤔
Right now I must have 5 design projects on the go, two being samples of the Ripplette Blouse (that will be dropping very soon!) that are almost complete and need buttons, and the others…. well here’s one!

I’m super exited to say that this little baby is getting the attention today. It’s growing up to become the Riptide Sweater and believe me, working out the compound raglan for this baby took a tad longer than I expected. But the fine tuning is so worth it and I’m loving it! And I know you will too! 🫶

Happy Sunday!

Thank you all for your love for my newest sweet little scarf that’s growing on my needles! (See my last post if you missed it - I have been dreaming of that calm sea 🩵)

🫶 Long Island Twilly
The Riptide stitch is anchored at its centre.
Is a super fast knit and perfect for using up your fi*****ng yarn leftovers.
Creates a teeny tiny scarf, a tie, a ribbon for your tote, a ribbon for your gift wrapping, and many more! 🎁 p.s. There’s a cocktail recipe included with this pattern - one of my own creations!

🫶 Riptide Scarfette
The Riptide stitch emerges from the central point, to enclose a ribbed centre. The scarf is 90% reversible.
Quick knit and perfect for that precious 1 skein of DK weight yarn.

🫶 Riptide135 Shawlette
The Riptide stitch pattern emerges from one side to create an elongated shallow triangular scarf/ shawlette.
Another quick knit requiring just 1 skein of DK weight yarn.

A few weeks ago I came across Sackville, New Brunswick, and visited the cutest cottage yarn shop of Megan Ingman 🩵

I scooped up a couple of fabulous skeins of 1ply Eco Fi*****ng along with some gorgeous Rustic Heather Sport, and chatted with talented dyer, Veronica, as the swift worked its spin!

I couldn’t wait to cast on this gorgeous blue - “beach glass”!

So I started on a little scarf design whilst traveling the stunning Maritimes of Canada 🩵

Fast forward a week, and this is Lobster Head Lighthouse in Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland with the beginnings of my new scarf design 🩵 Be sure to swipe through the photos.

Fast forward to now. I’m back at my desk and will be typing up my scribbles dreaming I was back there! This little scarf has the beginnings similar to the Riptide Scarfette but something else is going to happen. Can you guess what?
Keep an eye out - there’ll be a fun little test knit soon 🩵

Are you ready for its sister pattern - a buttoned blouse and cardigan?

These are photos of the Ripplette Blouse, the long sleeved version. I’ve brought it with me on holidays in the hope to finish this second sample (there’s a very cute short sleeve version too!)

The summer test knit is very happily swimming along and I’m very excited to tell you that the pattern will be ready for release in the latter half of August.

How to do a 3-stitch garter tab setup for your Seashore Hug shawl (or any shawl that uses a garter tab start).

1. Cast on 3 stitches using Long Tail cast-on method.

2. Place a removable stitch marker into each cast on stitch.

3. Work 6 rows, knitting all the stitches in each row, making sure not to turn your work after completing the 6th row.

4. Turn work 90 degrees and pick up and knit 3 stitches along the top edge - pick up and knit the purl pumps. 6 stitches are now on the needle.

5. Lastly you will turn your work 90 degrees again and knit into each stitch held on the stitch markers, removing each stitch marker. 9 stitches total are now on your needle.

This is right side of your shawl so it’s a good idea to place a removable stitch marker to mark the right side of your shawl.
