This month, part of our team traveled down to Savannah, GA to work on the refit of an 85’ power catamaran named Catamount. Having laser-scanned the as-built vessel, NYB designers and builders have been creating and shipping parts to Georgia, and then making on-site visits to assist with the installation.

NYB would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Hutchinson family upon Albert’s passing. Albert left a true legacy with the Mussel Ridge line of Downeast boats that came from his shop. These boats are out there working hard everyday and embody the true character of mid coast Maine, just like the man himself.

Newport Yacht Builders teamed up with Carbon Ocean Yachts this past year to engineer and build the interior for the stunning SDK Structures/Dirk Kramers-designed 50’ high-performance cruising catamaran Duende, winner of Best Sailboat at the 2024 Newport International Boat Show. Earlier this year, Newport Yacht Builders was honored to be invited to work with the team at Artisan Boatworks, contributing to Artisan's build of the 39-foot Wisp, a custom daysailer designed by Stephens Waring Design. These photos, taken by Alison Langley, showcase the main areas that we helped with on this special yacht—the helm pedestal, cockpit and saloon tables, and the interior stairs to the companionway.
